Project objectives:

The study involved analyzing public transport services in the province of Cagliari to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the mobility solutions available to users and to define an appropriate strategy for improving performance. After an initial phase dedicated to on-desk analysis of socio-economic and demographic data, an extensive data collection campaign was designed and implemented to develop reliable estimates of potential demand in project scenarios. By the end of the project, effective measures, strategies, and policies were defined by using simulation tools to improve service performance and increase the number of users served, with a focus on developing increasingly sustainable mobility.
