Project objectives:
The study began with a thorough analysis of the different modes of transportation that provide accessibility to the intervention area where a new stadium is planned. To achieve the ultimate goal, all data related to future mobility plans in the area was collected and organized into a structured database and in a reference GIS tool. A large-scale traffic model and a micro-simulation modeling analysis were conducted to estimate the performance of the transportation systems in their future configuration. The final part of the study focused on defining the necessary or desirable interventions to ensure the best possible performance of any transportation system serving the new stadium.
Output:
- Detailed technical analysis of current transportation systems.
- Analysis of the planned interventions in the area.
- Preliminary analysis of the initial design of transportation solutions/services received from the Proponent.
- Wide-ranging traffic modeling analysis to assess the possible need for future refinements of major services.
- Micro-simulation analysis of any transportation system in the focus area (parking, access/exit points, stops, etc.) to ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles and people.
- Definition of interventions (infrastructure, services, policies) to make the transportation systems as efficient as possible.
