Project objectives:

The project was developed to provide an analysis of all mobility and transportation needs in the area of the international airport (to be designed and built) in the NEOM Region, considering the location of this major hub and its connections to the development of ‘The Mirror Line.’ The objective was to define the infrastructure and services needed to efficiently serve the mobility of people and goods in the sections of the Mirror Line to be built east and west of the airport. An in-depth analysis was also conducted to define the optimal mobility configuration within the airport, based on assumptions about the distribution of internal services (access points, services, gates, etc.) and the  estimated demand.

Output:

• Master Plan of the study area.
• Mobility demand estimates (for both passengers and freight) for all transportation services serving local and regional travel.
• Infrastructural hierarchy of mobility services in the airport area, including all Mirror Line routes planned for construction on the east and west sides of the hub.
• Detailed analysis and performance evaluation of the proposed solutions.
• Modeling analysis to verify the performance of transportation systems for mobility, including vertical transportation.
