Project objectives:
The project focuses on defining a mobility development plan in the capital of Tiran Island. It includes the definition of a strategy for transportation infrastructure and services for both people and logistics. The documentation will outline the hierarchy and characteristics of the road network, various types of services, and transport modes for short-, medium-, and long-haul trips that include road, sea, and air routes. The proposal will be supported by a detailed estimate of mobility demand, prioritizing efficiency, resilience and flexibility. A significant challenge lies in the terrain, which requires an analysis to design a network with slopes of less than 10 percent to mitigate obstacles.
Output:
- Master Plan of the study area.
- Estimates of mobility demand (passenger and freight) for all different transportation services serving local/regional travel.
- Road network and mobility infrastructure (characterization, point locations, sizing).
- Definition of details of proposed infrastructure and services.
- Performance analysis and sensitivity testing.
- Modeling analyses.
